My Journey
For more than 20 years, photography has been my way of exploring the natural world. From Arctic glaciers and African savannas to tropical rainforests, deserts and remote mountain villages, every journey has been driven by curiosity, patience and a deep respect for nature.
For 48 years, my professional life was devoted to thoracic surgery. Throughout those years, photography remained a constant passion, gradually becoming another way of observing the world — one that values patience, precision and the ability to recognize moments that cannot be repeated.
Today, through Eyes of Earth, I share those moments in the hope that they inspire others to discover the beauty, diversity and fragility of our planet.
My Philosophy
I believe that great nature photography is not only about technical perfection.

Eyes of Earth brings together wildlife photography, polar expeditions, fine art landscapes and travel stories from some of the most remarkable places I have visited. The site is both a visual archive and a personal journey — from remote deserts and African deltas to cloud forests, ocean islands and the polar world. Selected images are also available as limited edition prints, created for people who want to bring a fragment of the natural world into their own space.
The World Through My Lens
Photography has taken me across six continents, from Arctic glaciers and volcanic islands to African savannas, tropical rainforests, deserts, and remote mountain villages.
I don’t travel to collect destinations. I travel to understand places, observe wildlife, meet people, and wait for those rare moments when light, emotion, and nature come together.
Every gallery on this website is a chapter of that journey — a collection of stories told through photographs, inviting you to experience the beauty, diversity, and fragility of our planet.
Equipment
Throughout my photographic journey, I have always worked with Sony cameras — from the Sony Alpha 100 to the current Alpha 1 II. Over the years, my equipment has evolved, but my trust in the Sony system has remained unchanged.
Today, I work with professional Sony G Master lenses selected for wildlife, landscape, and travel photography.
Software
My digital workflow is based on Lightroom Classic, Topaz Photo AI, and Adobe Photoshop, allowing me to preserve natural detail while staying true to the original scene.
Field experience
Nearly five decades as a thoracic surgeon and more than twenty years behind the camera have shaped the way I see the world — with patience, precision, and respect for every moment.
